Mohammed Abu Hashem has worked as a legal researcher and human rights trainer at the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) since February 2012. He has an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of York in the UK and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Al-Azher University in Gaza.  He previously worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Palestine and with the Palestinian Authority for 8 years, but has been on strike since 2007, when Hamas took power in Gaza. He is interested in political and civil rights in the Gaza Strip, especially right to political participation; transitional justice and security sector reform; democratization in Palestine, and other topics.
