Hamza Hamouchene is an Algerian political writer, researcher and activist. He is also a founding member of Algeria Solidarity Campaign (ASC), an organisation campaigning for peaceful democratic change and the respect of human rights in Algeria as well as Environmental Justice North Africa (EJNA) campaigning for climate/environmental justice and energy democracy in the North African region. Hamza previously worked for Platform where he was researching British energy interests in Algeria, with Global Justice Now (former World Development Movement) on global justice issues and more recently with War on Want as their Senior Programmes Officer - North Africa and West Asia. His work appeared in Guardian, Counterpunch, Jadaliyya, openDemocracy, and Huffington Post.
